Preparation for eyebrow tattooing

We understand that everyone wants a natural beautiful look and when you hire a professional who understands this it takes the worry out of the experience.

Finding a eyebrow tattoo expert

There are many ways to find a good tattooist. But it is important to ask the tattooist about professional insurance and licensing. Often, untrained and inexperienced eyebrow tattoo artists are not insured or have licence which is a legal requirement to maintain safety and infection control for skin penetration treatments.

How long does it take?

Within two sessions, you'll get the perfect eyebrow tattoos of your dreams. The first session is when the pigment is applied. A few weeks later, you'll have another touch up appointment to check how your brows look. Depending on how you like your brows, we may then revise some of the original work adjust the shape a bit, darken your brows, or add additional strokes.

Eyebrow Tattoo Color Considerations

When choosing a colour for your permanent makeup eyebrow tattoo, there are several aspects to consider:

  • Light colours tend to fade faster than darker shades.

  • Specialists focus on creating the same colour as your natural brow. This way, extra strokes around your tattoo will go unnoticed.

  • Everyone can find a colour that suits them. Aspects like your eye colour, natural skin tone, and hair colour are all taken into account. A natural, soft colour is the finest option. Your technician will be able to direct you in the right direction.

  • The colour of permanent make can be changed or adjusted over time. For example, at the initial treatment, your skin pigmentation and the colour of the permanent make will result in the final pigment colour. Two people can choose the exact same pigment for their eyebrow tattoos, and they will never look identical, even though they look similar. If you choose to have an additional tattoo, you can apply a new and different colour over your existing colour over time. These will then blend to create a new shade.

  • Don't panic if your eyebrows look a little dark when you leave the salon. It's pretty normal for tattooed eyebrows to look darker during the healing process.

The thought of permanent cosmetic eyebrows can be a little unsettling if you haven't looked into it before.

We have taken a long time in researching what pigments and brands to use. Eyebrow Tattoo Techniques

Here are four eyebrow tattoo trends and some information about each style so you can decide which option is right for you:

1. Feather brow tattoos

Feather brow tattoos are eyebrow tattoos that use hairline techniques to create a natural, feather-like brow. The result is done with nano digital hair strokes that visually replicate individual natural hairs. In this process, micro-pigments are "implanted" directly under the epidermis using a machine. Precision is required to ensure that the hairlines look as natural and clear as possible. Feather brow tattoos may be for you if you want fuller eyebrows but have thin sparse hairs, are mature aged or you wish to correct patchily, scarred, or light eyebrows.

Feathering is particularly common and recommended for ageing populations who want a natural look.

2. Microblading

Microblading is a technique used to make feather brow tattoos. Microblading is not done with a digital machine but only with a hand tool called a "microblade".

These microblades vary in thickness to achieve different results depending on the thickness of each eyebrow hair. This method is suitable for covering bald or thinning areas. Microblading is usually used on normal to dry skin, not oily skin.

Nurse Nyma does NOT offer Mircoblading due to the long term damage cutting creates to the skin. Many skin types are not suitable for mircroblading and this is why we offer feather tattooing digitally - the safer version. Very similar results without skin trauma or long-term disfiguration that is suitable for all skin types.

3. Powder Brows

If you already have eyebrow hair, powder-filled tattoo brows are ideal for even more boldness. Powder brows, also known as ombre brows, give your brows the look of a natural powder application. This style is best for brows that already have shape, and you want to enhance what's there and better define the overall shape.

This type of cosmetic tattoo usually lasts longer than feathering. This is because the application method involves more shading and pigment.

4. Combination brows

Combination brows combine feather brow tattooing with powder brow filling. This approach works on all skin types and brows, whether you have a lot of brow hair or none.

The effect of combination brows is a 3D effect that creates dark tails and arches and fades towards the centre of the brow. The centre or "bulb" of the brows are feathered to give a light fluffy appearance that looks like real hair strokes.

Combined brows are the newest and most popular form of eyebrow tattooing on the market and we love doing this brow tattoo technique!

Consult an experienced cosmetic tattooist to receive the best and safest results. He or she can help you choose the best technique for your eyebrows and assist you with aftercare. As with all cosmetic procedures, you must follow the aftercare advice provided by your technician.
