Aftercare
-
The treated area will scab naturally. Allow the scab to fall off, typically within five to seven days.
-
An antiseptic cream or white petrolatum is applied immediately following the procedure.
-
Keep the area dry for 24 to 48 hours. After this, gentle soap and water may be used.
-
Sun protection is required.
-
Patients with skin types 4 to 6 should anticipate post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. A pigmentation cream may be recommended to reduce this risk.
-
Infection is uncommon but possible with any procedure. Follow wound care instructions carefully.
-
More than one session may be required for complete removal.
